A boost for Scottish literature?

Could it be that the government is seriously looking to boost literature in Scotland? I really hope so!

Today the government released a news report indicating that Culture Minister Michael Russell said that Scotland needed a new approach to public sector support for literature that focussed particularly on writing and publishing.

This is the first literature related news I’ve read in quite a long time that hasn’t made me want to crawl into a hole and cry. I hope it does some good!
