Bio

Lynsey May lives, loves and writes in Edinburgh. Her debut novel, Weak Teeth, will be published by Polygon in summer 2023. She’s won prizes and fellowhips such as a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award, Emerging Scottish Writer at Cove Park and a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship. Her short fiction has been published in various journals and anthologies, including The Stinging Fly, Gutter, New Writing Scotland and Banshee. She’s never far from a cup of coffee and her bag is always too heavy.

Prizewinning writer

Lynsey won first place in the Fresh Ink novel contest 2020 and was shortlisted for the Alpine Fellowship 2020. She received a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award in 2013, a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship in 2015 and a spot as Cove Park’s Emerging Scottish Writer in 2016. A previous, unpublished novel got a spot on the Mslexia novel competition longlist in 2015 and runner up in the Borough Press submission competition in 2017.
